BACKGROUND

Paula has been creating art for over 40 years and has exhibited throughout California.

After receiving an art degree at the University of California at Berkeley, Paula completed a Master of Arts degree in Printmaking at CSU, Chico. She continues to pursue her printmaking in Chico and teaches art at Butte Community College. She is enthusiastically involved with the activities of the large network of local artists. She is a member of the California Society of Printmakers and is also a recipient of a George Sugarman grant.

The relationship between life and its environment is a favorite subject for Paula. While imagery is diverse, references are frequently made to plant life, animal forms, human artifacts and faces. Color is used boldly to create moods and dynamic contrasts. “I rely on intuition to place the objects, colors and patterns on each piece.”
